Privacy Policy

ConversionTools ("we", "us", "our") operates a free technical conversion-rate optimization scanner at conversiontools.com. This policy explains what we collect when you use the tool, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Summary
This short summary is not the full policy — please read the sections below.
ConversionTools is a free, technical conversion-rate optimization scanner. You enter a domain name and we check its uptime, HTTPS configuration, email authentication records, and page speed. We do not require an account, we do not ask for your email to run a scan, and we do not sell personal data to anyone.
What we collect
When you use ConversionTools, we process the following information:
- The domain name you submit for scanning. This is the only thing you type in. - Technical records we retrieve about that domain: DNS records (SPF, DKIM, DMARC, MX, MTA-STS, BIMI), HTTP response headers, redirect behavior, and page-speed measurements. These are all public, server-side records. - Standard request information our hosting provider may log automatically: IP address, timestamp, browser type, and referring URL. We use this only to operate the service and keep it secure.
We do not collect your name, email address, postal address, phone number, or any payment information. Scans are free and no account is needed.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Run the scan you requested and show you the results. - Improve the accuracy of our checks and the wording of our fix recommendations. - Detect and prevent abuse of the scanner (for example, repeated automated scans at high volume). - Keep the service secure and stable.
We do not use scan inputs to build an advertising profile about you, and we do not combine scan data with third-party data to identify individuals.
How long we keep data
Scan results are generated on demand and shown to you in your browser. We do not maintain a permanent database of scans tied to individuals, because we do not have accounts or user identifiers.
Automated server logs (IP address, timestamp, request path) are retained by our hosting provider for a limited period for security and operational debugging, then deleted according to the provider's standard schedule. We do not keep these logs longer than necessary.
Third-party advertising
ConversionTools is ad-supported. We may display ads served by Google AdSense and other advertising networks, and we may include affiliate links that earn us a commission if you make a purchase.
These advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. They may collect device identifiers, IP address, and browsing data to measure ad performance and, where applicable, to show you interest-based ads.
Key points:
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits. - You can opt out of personalized advertising in your Google Ads Settings, and you can opt out of most third-party vendors' personalized advertising through the Digital Advertising Alliance or, in the EU/UK, through Your Online Choices. - You can also disable cookies in your browser settings. This will not stop ads from appearing, but it limits personalization. - We do not control the cookies set by advertising partners and are not responsible for their data practices. Review their privacy policies for details.
We are not "selling" your personal data in the sense of California Consumer Privacy Law. Ad partners' use of cookies for ad personalization may be considered a "sale" or "share" under some state laws; you can opt out as described above.
Other third-party services
To run scans, ConversionTools queries public infrastructure:
- DNS-over-HTTPS resolvers to look up your domain's DNS records. - The mail exchangers and web servers belonging to the domain you scan. - Google PageSpeed Insights (when you run a deep scan), which receives the domain you scan and returns performance measurements.
These providers receive only the domain name you submit and operate under their own privacy policies. We do not send them any other information about you.
Children's privacy
ConversionTools is a business-to-business tool and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has used the tool, contact us and we will delete any relevant data.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Request access to or a copy of personal information we hold about you. - Request that we correct or delete that information. - Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information and of targeted advertising. - Limit the use of sensitive personal information.
Because ConversionTools does not use accounts, the only personal information we may hold about you is in our automated server logs. To exercise any right, contact us — we will respond within the time frame required by your local law.
International transfers
ConversionTools and its infrastructure providers may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States. When we do, we rely on recognized transfer mechanisms where required (for example, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) and limit the data shared to what is necessary to run the scan.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we process, including restricting access to operational logs and using HTTPS for all connections. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as our features or legal obligations change. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be noted by updating that date. Continued use of ConversionTools after a change means you accept the updated policy.
